Stoke Prior First School, Bromsgrove

Diary of Events 2008 - 09

Previous  fundraising has focused on :

   Providing an outdoor classroom for

use by all of the children.

Purchasing a fantastic new

stage system to use

for our drama productions,

assemblies and special events.

Now the School Association

are focusing on :

Revamping the outdoor play equipment

by providing a 'Trim/Activity Track'.

The project is already well on the

way with involvement from

the children in the selection

process and quotes

for our requests being acquired.

Many thanks to the parents and grandparents who have helped out

at the events run over the year.

It is hard work at times

 but also good fun!

As well as providing money for the outdoor classroom and staging, other funds raised have been spent

 on a handwriting program

for all the school, PE equipment,

 leavers dictionaries

and CD players.

We have also been able to provide

a full set of waterproofs to enable

one class to get out in all weathers.

 A vegetable patch has

also been built so the children

can grow their own produce.

This area is also now "protected"

by our very own scarecrow

which was brought to life by the

 School Association after the

winner of our Scarecrow Competition

was chosen from Class 1.

Support for the Eco group has also been given in providing a state of the art recyling Roly Pig!

Thanks to the dedication of our

members, Santa's Grotto has taken on

a new look and last years

 Christmas Tea Party raised

a magnificent £971.43.

All of the money raised at our events

 goes directly into our children's

school life.

2008 also saw a visit from Ronnie Raisin

encouraging the children

to eat more fruit.

We also supported

The Christmas Child Appeal,

having 42 shoeboxes donnated by the pupils and their families.
